The Oxford chair model was finished at the start of 2015, halfway through my first year of the Foundation Degree. Our brief was to create a chair that was inspired by Oxford. I decided to make this a challenge for myself by cutting all the joints as they would be if it were full scale. For example, the through tenons on the backrest are only 9mm x 3mm wide and the rounded armrests are joined to the legs using a mitred bridle joint. This was a bit of a challenge!
